Boston Police Department institutes body camera program.

Nearly 200 police officers from Dorchester, South Boston, and the Youth Violence Unit begin wearing body cameras to record their interactions with the public. Implementation of what is to be a city-wide initiative comes after a court ruling following resistance from the department’s large police union and a pilot program that began on September 12, 2016.
